EDUCATION
Certified in Clinical Sleep Health by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists, Laurie has over 37 years of clinical experience as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) and Registered Sleep Technologist (RST).
She graduated cum laude from Robert Morris University in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, with an Associate of Science degree in Medical Administrative Management. She began her career as an EEG and Brainstem Evoked Potential technician at West Penn Hospital in Bloomfield, Pennsylvania.
After relocating to California, she earned a certificate in Polysomnography from Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. She then served as Chief Polysomnographic Technologist at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center in Pomona, California.
40 YEARS' EXPERIENCE IN NEURODIAGNOSTICS & SLEEP
From 1991-2007, Laurie served as Clinical Coordinator for the Sleep Disorders Center of Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara, CA . She was instrumental in achieving accreditation from the American Board of Sleep Medicine, making it the 17th accredited freestanding center in the country at the time. In 2001, she developed the center’s Durable Medical Equipment (DME) program and later became Operations Manager, overseeing affilitated labs in
Chino, Santa Maria and Ventura.
Laurie currently serves as the Clinical Coordinator of the AASM-accredited Santa Barbara Sleep Clinic, where she oversees the day-to-day operations of the sleep clinic, DME services, and home sleep study program.
In 2008, Laurie and her husband founded an HCAA- accredited durable medical equipment (DME) company specializing in PAP equipment supplies, which they operated until 2012.
MEMBERSHIPS
Between 1991-1995, Laurie served on the Membership Board of the Board of Polysomnographic Technologists as an Examiner for the BRPT registry exams. In 1993, she taught a course at the Stanford School of Sleep Medicine. She is currently certified by the California Medical Board and is an active member of the Association of Polysomnographic Technologists, the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists and ASET (American Society of EEG Technologists).
PERSONAL
Laurie enjoys spending time with her husband and their two Whippets. On her days off, you can find her practing dog agility, gardening, sewing and papercrafting
