EDUCATION
Certified in Clinical Sleep Health by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists, Laurie has over 32 years of clinical experience as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) and Registered Sleep Technologist (RST).
Graduating cum laude from Robert Morris University, Coraopolis, PA with an Associate in Science Degree in Medical Administrative Management, Laurie worked as an EEG and Brainstem Evoked Potential technician at West Penn Hospital, Bloomfield, PA.
After moving to California, she attended Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa and received a certificate in Polysomnography. She worked full time as Chief Polysomnographic Technologist at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, Pomona, CA.
37 YEARS' EXPERIENCE
From 1991-2007, Laurie worked as the Clinical Coordinator for The Sleep Disorders Center of Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara, CA and was instrumental in getting this center accredited by The American Board of Sleep Medicine, making it the 17th accredited freestanding center in the country at the time. Laurie developed the center’s Durable Medical Equipment Program in 2001 and later became Operations Manager for the Center and managed affiliated labs in Chino, Santa Maria and Ventura.
Laurie is currently the Clinical Coordinator of the AASM accredited Santa Barbara Sleep Clinic overseeing the day-to-day operation of the sleep clinic, DME and home sleep study program.
In 2008, Laurie and her husband started an HCAA accredited, durable medical equipment (DME) company specializing in PAP equipment supplies and operated this company until 2012.
MEMBERSHIPS
Between 1991-1995, Laurie served on the Membership Board of the Board of Polysomnographic Technologists, served as Examiner for the BRPT registry exams, and in 1993 taught a course at the Stanford School of Sleep Medicine. She is currently certified by the California Medical Board and active member of the Association of Polysomnographic Technologists, Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists and ASET (American Society of EEG Technologists).
PERSONAL
Laurie enjoys spending time with her husband and pets including two whippets. On her days off, you can find her practing Agility with her dogs, sewing and papercrafting in her home art studio and making handmade items for her Etsy store.
